Kingfishers And Austenwood Residents Celebrate Eximius Live In Support's 10 Year Anniversary
Residents and staff from Kingfishers Care Home and Austenwood Care Home got together for a joint community outing to mark a local milestone and also came away with a mayoral connection.

When Eximius Live-In Support marked their 10th anniversary recently, residents and staff from both Kingfishers Care Home and Austenwood Care Home were there to be part of it. It was a special occasion that brought the two homes together for a shared afternoon of celebration, and, as it turned out, some meaningful conversations too.

One of the most talked-about parts of the day was the Dementia Bus experience. It gave residents and staff the chance to understand firsthand what it is like to live with dementia, something that resonated deeply with both teams and allowed for real reflection on the way home.

Among the day’s highlights was the attendance of the Mayor of Beaconsfield, Cllr Anita Cranmer, who showed a genuine interest in the Through the Eyes of a Child programme.

The conversation evidently made an impression, as there are now plans in the works for the Mayor to visit both homes and meet the children involved in the programme herself. It’s a connection both teams hope will grow from here.

Days like this are a lovely reminder of what becomes possible when the two homes work together. Residents get to socialise, experience new things and feel part of a community and relationships form that benefit everyone.
