Dancing and Vintage Glamour at Austenwood’s Summer Party
Residents, families and friends came together for a brilliant afternoon at Austenwood Care Home’s Vintage Glamour Summer Party, with guests from the local community also joining in the celebrations.
Singer Nik Stoter provided entertainment throughout the afternoon and it wasn’t long before residents and their guests were up dancing. After enjoying the summer BBQ, guests could also try their luck in the raffle, with prizes up for grabs.
Austenwood was pleased to welcome Councillor Celia Stuart-Lee, Mayor of Gerrards Cross Town Council, who spent time chatting with residents and their families.
Some familiar faces from the local church also came along, joining residents for the afternoon, strengthening Austenwood’s connections within the community.
The party brought back some lovely memories for one family. As a resident danced with her daughter, her husband shared that it had been many years since he had seen them dance together. Watching them do so again was a real highlight of the afternoon for him.
Guests who regularly attend Austenwood’s Community Dementia Cafe were invited along too.
Because they already knew the team through the cafe, they were able to enjoy the party alongside residents and their families. They were also surprised when they won a prize in the raffle to take home!

We are passionate about ensuring Austenwood remains connected to the community around us and creating opportunities for residents, families and local people to come together.”
The Vintage Glamour Party is part of a busy calendar at Austenwood, with regular events giving residents something different to look forward to and enjoy throughout the year.
