“My husband, Rob, (68) has young onset dementia, he has been in Austenwood since March 2025, and settled in almost immediately having done two weeks of respite a month before, to get used to his new home. The care has been amazing. When you are a 24/7 carer, it’s very hard to hand over your husband to someone else, but I have had every trust in all the staff. They put up with all the horrible symptoms of dementia and take it all in their stride. The activities staff are just the icing on the cake! Not only for the residents but for the relatives too. Visiting day in and day out becomes hard, but they are always there to lift you and make you laugh. Thank you to everyone for all your support and making me feel part of the family.
