A Lifetime of Love: Vic and Eileen Celebrate 65 Years With a Vow Renewal

We’re no strangers to special moments here at Rosebank, but now and then, something truly unforgettable happens. When we learned that our lovely residents, Vic and Eileen, were about to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary, we knew it deserved to be marked in a way as meaningful as their love story.

With the couple’s blessing, we got in touch with our local Reverend, who was more than happy to visit and lead a quiet vow renewal ceremony. It was simple, sincere and incredibly moving, a chance for Vic and Eileen to reaffirm the promises they had made all those years ago. Their words to one another reminded us all of the beauty of enduring love.

We also reached out to the local community, who helped us add a few extra touches to the day. Vic and Eileen were given a ride to the ceremony in a beautiful vintage Rolls Royce, something they’d never done before and really enjoyed. Watching them step out of that car, smiling and waving, was a highlight for everyone.

Back at Rosebank, our talented chef Lisa created a handmade anniversary cake that looked as good as it tasted. As this was their Blue Sapphire anniversary, the day was themed in soft blues. We used this colour theme in the decorations, flowers and the wedding cake, a thoughtful nod to the occasion.

And to top it all off, the couple were thrilled to receive a congratulatory card from none other than The King and Queen themselves, it was an unexpected surprise that meant a lot to the couple.

As requested, the celebration was kept small and personal, with just a few close family and friends joining them. A quiet afternoon with the people they care about most, a few laughs, some cake and nothing too over the top.
